Audi A4 is available in sedan and truck body styles. The truck is called an Auparavant. Two applications are available, a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine now ranked at 170 power (up 20 power from the 2000 model), and a 2.8-liter V6 ranked at 190 power. All A4s come conventional with a five-speed guide gear box. A five-speed Tiptronic automated gear box ($1,100) is optionally available. 

The A4 1.8T sedan begins at $24,540, while the 2.8-liter edition stores for $30,340. The A4 1.8T Auparavant quattro truck begins at $27,290, while the A4 2.8 Auparavant quattro truck goes for $31,990. Standard furniture is a choice of material or leatherette. Set furniture is optionally available on the 2.8 Sedan ($1,320). 

Audi's fantastic quattro all-wheel-drive program comes conventional on Auparavant wagons. Quattro is a $1,750 option on the sedan models; Audi's innovative grip management comes conventional on front-wheel-drive sedans not outfitted with quattro. Anti-lock braking system are conventional on all designs. 

New for 2001 is an optionally available electronic balance program, or ESP. Like similar systems from BMW and Mercedes, ESP screens sedan characteristics during competitive driving or urgent situation circumstances and intervenes to help keep the car indicated in the designed route whenever it feelings the car owner is beginning to come unglued. 

Audi's Sideguard layer part safety bags are now conventional on all designs. The safety bags cover the entire part window area to secure residents in both the top part and back seats; as opposed to conventional safety bags, they remain filled for about 5 a few moments to shield you if the sedan comes over. Xenon high-intensity eliminate low-beam front lights ($500) improve exposure on wet night time. 

Other significant options include sports activity front part chairs ($500) and an activity revocation program that contains efficiency tires and tires ($750 on the 1.8T, $500 on the 2.8). Also available is a Bose top quality stereo audio ($650), a six-disc CD filter ($550), a routing program ($1,280), and a hands-free mobile telephone ($495).
