When towing a trailer, the audible signal may keep sounding if the shift lever is moved to the reverse position. When this occurs, turn the backup sensor switch OFF.

Screw Compressor Specs - A screw compressor moves liquids or gases, usually uphill but also sideways and downhill, with efficiency. It is capable of pumping dirty liquids with pockets of vapors and will pump very viscous liquids. The design is complicated, expensive and heavy, but screw pumps are robust and dependable.

There are two types of pumps. One kind creates a vacuum and allows air pressure to push a liquid or gas into a new location. The second kind, called a positive displacement pump, picks up a liquid or gas and carries it to a new location. The pressure of the air in our atmosphere limits the amount of work the first kind can do. The positive displacement pump is limited only by the strength of the metal it's made of.
How It Works
The screw compressor has two interlocking screws with spaces between the thread. Picture a common bolt with thick threads and no head. Make the threads thinner so that each turn of thread has a space between it and the thread above and below. Put a matching bolt next to it, held in place so that the threads touch closely all along its length. Put a casing around both bolts that touches the threads for the length of the bolt except in the middle where the bolts touch. Any liquid or gas present at the intake end of the two bolts will be drawn into the space between the threads and carried up the length of the bolts and pushed out the other end. The threads inside the screw compressor are designed so that they become thicker toward the outlet, compressing the liquid or gas trapped inside the threads. Some screw compressors use a lubricant which cools the screws, lubricates the mechanisms and aids in compression.

The U.S. Department of Energy suggests that each screw compressor be rated for its maximum capacity at full load, the pressure it generates at full load, the horsepower and efficiency of the motor driving it, the horsepower and efficiency of the fan assembly that cools the entire unit, the power requirements of the entire unit including the motor driving the twin screws, the fan motor and the efficiency of the entire unit under full, load, partial load and no load situations.
Uses

Many lights will illuminate when you start your vehicle to make sure the bulb works. If any light remains on after starting the vehicle, refer to the respective system warning light for additional information. Service engine soon: The service engine soon indicator light illuminates when the ignition is first turned to the on position to check the bulb and to indicate whether the vehicle is ready for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing. Normally, the service engine soon light will stay on until the engine is cranked, then turn itself off if no malfunctions are present.
However, if after 15 seconds the service engine soon light blinks eight times, it means that the vehicle is not ready for I/M testing. See the Readiness for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing in the Maintenance and Specifications chapter. Solid illumination after the engine is started indicates the On Board Diagnostics System (OBD-II) has detected a malfunction. Refer to On board diagnostics (OBD-II) in the Maintenance and Specifications chapter. If the light is blinking, engine misfire is occurring which could damage your catalytic converter. Drive in a moderate fashion (avoid heavy acceleration and deceleration) and contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. 2003 Dodge Cummins ATS Co-Pilot Module Installation Manual. Thank you for purchasing the ATS Co-Pilot Module Torque converter/exhaust brake controller. This manual is to assist you with your installation and operation of the unit. If you are installing the unit for a customer, please pass this manual on to your customer for future reference. The ATS Co-Pilot module commands the lock-up clutch of the torque converter along with the exhaust brake, if equipped, to stay engaged. This allows for up to 100% of the retarding force to be transferred in 3rd and 4th gear and the transmission oil temperature to remain low because of little to no slippage occurring when the converter is in these selected gears.
When the ATS Valve Body is Currently, exhaust brake usage can cause high temperatures in the automatic transmission due to torque converter slippage. And only a small portion of the retarding force is transferred through the fluid coupling of most torque converters. The Co-Pilot has been developed to provide lock-up capability in all gears. NOTE: On Dodge transmissions the ATS Valve Body must be installed to utilize 1st and 2nd gear lock-up capability. The factory computer is programmed to disengage lockup under many conditions, which inhibits the performance of the transmission. A few of these conditions are The variable control panel on the face of the ATS Co-Pilot Module allows the driver to select and view the speed at which the torque converter clutch will engage and disengage. When the round button on the left side of the Co-Pilot face is depressed and the blue light is turned off, the Co-Pilot is disabled. This will allow the factory PCM (Power Train Control Module) to operate the vehicle as it is in stock form. The OFF position is indicated by none of the lights being lit on the face of the box. To activate the unit, depress the round button (ATS Button) on the left side of the face, one of the blue lights on the face will light up, the light also indicates the level the Co-Pilot was set on before it was last shut OFF. This will tell the Co-Pilot to watch for vehicle speed. The minimum speed the Co-Pilot will engage is around 12 mph. The minimum speed of around 12 mph is selected by depressing the down arrow button on the display. This will cause the Co-Pilot to send a Owners manual.

Disconnect Cooler Refrigerant Suction Hose No. 1. A. Install the SST to the piping clamp. SST: 09870-00015 HINT: Confirm the direction of the piping clamp claw and the SST using the illustration shown on the caution label. B. Push down the SST and release the clamp lock. NOTE: Be careful not to deform the tube when pushing the SST. C. Pull the SST slightly and push the release lever. Then remove the piping clamp with the SST. D. Remove the piping clamp from the SST. E. Disconnect the cooler refrigerant suction hose No. 1. NOTE: Disconnect the tube by hand only. Do not pry the tube apart. Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
